Having a door that looks a bit old or worn down doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s time to get rid of it. Doors made of high-quality wood are an investment, and fortunately, there are plenty of options when it comes to refurbishing them and giving them a fresh look. Refinishing a door gives you the satisfaction and sensation of having a new door without forcing you to break the bank by actually buying a new one.
The process for this project started with sanding down the door to give us a clean canvas. Sanding down the door removes all traces of the previous finish so that the new coat of finish can be applied as close to perfection as possible. Not only does this help to get rid of small scratches and unevenness, but it smooths everything over to help your door look like a completely new addition to your home.
From there, our handymen were free to apply a new layer of stain to finish off the job and leave the door looking excellent. This aspect of the job is crucial. It’s the point where you as a client have the choice to either stick with the same shade of finish which the door had originally, or go in a different direction.
